What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring your ID, insurance card, medical history, and a referral from your doctor (if applicable). Arrive 15 minutes early to fill out any forms.
How can I prepare for physical therapy?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows movement. Avoid wearing tight or restrictive clothes. We may also suggest specific exercises to practice before your appointment.
What types of insurance do you accept?
We accept a wide range of insurance providers. Please contact us directly or check our Insurance page for the most up-to-date list of providers we work with.
What happens if I need to cancel my appointment?
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us at least 24 hours' notice. Failure to cancel within this time frame may result in a cancellation fee.
Can I go to the physical therapy clinic I want to?
Yes. You have the right to choose any physical therapy clinic for treatment. You can ask questions regarding your conditions and/or needs for your treatment if the clinic is the right fit for you. At Keystone PT, we utilize advanced skill sets. We are certified orthopedic manual therapist, advanced selective functional movement assessment, certified advanced dry needling, Golf Fitness Assessment practitioner. What is Direct Access Physical Therapy?
Virginia law gives, the consumer, the right to obtain Physical Therapy services directly, without requiring a referral from a referring licensed health practitioner (doctor of medicine, osteopathy, chiropractic, podiatry, dental surgery, licensed nurse practitioner, or licensed physician assistant) for a 60-day period.
To receive additional physical therapy services beyond this 60-day period, a referral from a licensed health care practitioner needs to be obtained.
If I come via Direct Access, Does that mean my physician won't be involved?
When you come Direct Access, you may ask us to include your family physician or any other provider that is involved in your care. We are happy to send regular updates to the provider of your choice.
If I come via Direct Access, will insurance cover it?
Yes. Most insurance companies recognize Direct Access laws and cover physical therapy services without a physician order. Typically, when insurance coverage is verified, the insurance company usually indicates if the insurance policy requires an order. If that is the case, we will work with the physician of your choice to obtain the order.
